Los Angeles Metro has announced the relaunch of the LA Metro Transit Watch app, aimed at providing travelers with a direct connection to public transportation security.
Originally launched in 2020, LA Metro Transit Watch allows users to report any incidents on the expansive transportation network, as well as concerns related to safety, maintenance, cleanliness, and overall quality of life.
Metro officials explained that they collaborated directly with passengers through focus groups and user feedback to enhance the app’s experience. A new version of the app has been developed to meet user needs more effectively. Before its general relaunch, Metro conducted a three-week beta testing phase, during which travelers’ feedback was collected to ensure the app was user-friendly and any issues with its drop-down menu were fixed.
The updated version of LA Metro Transit Watch is now available for download on mobile devices. It features a modern interface for more intuitive navigation, allowing users to submit incident reports more quickly to Metro’s security team. However, in life-threatening emergencies, users are still advised to call 911.
The app developers also added a chat function to allow faster communication between users and Metro staff. Real-time location services have been improved, enabling users to report the exact location of a service problem, which requires having location services activated on their device.
Additionally, users can now access a history of their reports and chat conversations with staff, making it easier to track issues. A feedback survey is also included, giving users the opportunity to rate their experience with the app.
Other improvements include increased accessibility, such as 14 language options and adjustable text size. The updated app can be downloaded on iPhone via a specific link.
The revamped app aims to provide a smoother, safer experience for LA Metro users, ensuring timely reporting and enhanced communication for a better transit experience.
